HRG Heros Work to Save Lives

Spokane Valley, WA -

HRG employees working at the OPC recently participated in the Inland Northwest Blood Center (INBC) blood drive.  A letter received from INBC expresses their appreciation.

On behalf of all the patients in our region

thank you for hosting a blood drive with the

Inland Northwest Blood Center (INBC). Let me

introduce Robin & Jim.

For Robin and Jim Hayford, the importance of living life moment by moment is something they have come to understand and appreciate. “One day your life is completely normal, and then the next it’s not,” said Jim. At the tender age of six, Robin and Jim’s daughter, Jayme was diagnosed with leukemia. The family was devastated. Throughout the next 2 and ½ years, Jayme underwent chemotherapy treatments, spent nearly 200 nights at the hospital and had numerous transfusions of blood and platelets. The cancer went into remission for 15 months, but then came back, meaning treatments of radiation for a little girl and a family that had already been through so much. “We might have been helpless but we were never hopeless,” said Robin. Today, The Hayford family is healthy, happy and cancer-free. The Hayford’s have their daughter back, thanks – in part – to the generosity of blood and platelet donors.

On September 23, 19 faithful blood donors from your organization gave the “gift of life” to patients in our region.

Healthcare Resource Group plays an important role in helping maintain a safe and adequate blood supply for the patients of the Inland Northwest. On behalf of the many lives – past, present and future – thank you for your commitment to INBC.  Together we are working to save lives!
